Furthermore, as it's getting old you won't have any problems with its requirements as your computer will be able to meet them without trouble, making the investment of purchasing it on Steam very worthwhile. Its graphics still look quite decent as you can see in the gameplays. Without the KKK this time.Īlthough Left 4 Dead 2 has been on the market for quite a few years, it's still a great first-person shooter that offers you hours of entertainment and fun.

(and he get the game cause it was free days ago! He don't even like them game! lol) so again not an isp thing.īut I'm telling you, I even tried \/PN and tunnel and sh!t and still I have connection timeout.Īll the other games download just fine. but one of my steam friend with same isp said he have no problem getting the game. although me and my friends are all have same isp. I tried every single server on steam to download it. No, I dont think it's from a steam server. (but every one of them are too lazy to send me a backup file! :/ ) (Yes ppl! Go ahead and earase this problem by saying "go get some better friends who get you a L4D2 backup!" Most of ppl will solve problems by earasing it like this! -_- ) And I know a lot of people in iran (far from me) who downloaded it without a problem. Originally posted by Vultraz:Where are you? Perhaps it has something to do with physical location in relation to specific servers or something. I'm downloading L4D as we speak, but I'd really like to play L4D2. If anyone could help me with this problem, I'd be very greatful.

All other games I've tried to install have installed fine, even the first L4D! This is the ONLY game that I've encountered with this problem.

I've tried reinstalling Steam, changing the download server, and disabling my firewall, all to no avail. I've been trying all the suggestions I've found on Google. Attempting to do so will end up with the same "connection time out" error.

Trying to launch or update will bring up a "Steam needs to convert this game's files to a newer format" message. Occationally, if I force quit Steam and restart it, "Update Suspened" will appear next to L4D2's entry in my library. If I let it sit, it will eventually unfreeze and give me the error that "There was an error installing L4D2 (connection timeout)". Every time I try to install this game, it says "Creating game cache files", the bar doesn't fill up at all, then Steam will freeze.
